Update: Al-Awda's Third Annual International Convention

EMPOWERING THE PALESTINE RIGHT TO RETURN MOVEMENT

Al-Awda, The Palestine Right to Return Coalition will be holding its third annual international convention, entitled "Empowering the Palestine Right to Return Movement", April 15-17, 2005 at the University of California in Los Angeles. Hundreds of Palestine rights activists are expected to attend. Al-Awda's chapters at UCLA and Los Angeles, along with other community activists and twenty five local organizations, are members of the convention's host committee and have been working hard to prepare for this important and timely event. A major objective of the convention will be to build on the progress of the previous two annual Al-Awda conventions, and continue with the development of grassroots campaigns for Palestinian rights, in particular the rights of refugees to return to their original towns and villages. The success of our convention is extremely important given the new critical
challenges facing the Palestinian cause today from those who seem emboldened to continue to deny the refugees their inalienable rights to return to their homes of origin and to restitution of all their confiscated and destroyed properties.

Invitation

We invite Al-Awda members, and all groups and individuals who support the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their original towns and villages to join us in our third annual international convention. The convention will be a superlative forum for activists to listen to expert presentations and to share their own thoughts on how they would like to see our collective efforts and campaigns for the rights of Palestinian refugees develop.

We highly encourage out of town guests to plan their travel and accommodation arrangements early. We are expecting hundreds of activists to attend from across North America and beyond in addition to many members of our community in Southern California.
