ACTION ALERT

                      For Immediate Release
                      March 15, 2007
Al-Awda Alert: Free Ahmad Sa'dat Immediately
Al-Awda, The Palestine Right to Return Coalition condemns Israel's continued imprisonment of Palestinian national leader, Legislative
Council member and General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Ahmad Sa'dat,
who was kidnapped along with five other Palestinians following an Israeli siege of Jericho Prison on 14 March, 2006.
The imprisonment and torture of Sa'dat is an affront to the principles of justice, the rule of law and human rights. It is part and parcel of Israel's ongoing strategy of depriving the Palestinian people
and its national liberation movement of competent leaders who are capable of leading the Palestinian
struggle into a successful conclusion. Further, it is a strategy that is designed to criminalize Palestinian
resistance against Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine. As Sa'dat himself stressed on a number
of occasions, the proceedings against him are illegal since the occupation and its judicial system are illegitimate.
Therefore, Israel's leaders are the ones who must be put on trial and their genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people.
Further information on the case of Ahmad Sa'dat and his comrades could be found at
                    http://freesaadat.net/english/index.cfm
Al-Awda calls on all freedom loving people to call, write and fax to demand the release of Ahmad Sa'dat and all Palestinian political prisoners
