ACTION: SUPPORT AL-AWDA'S WORK

Support The Right Of Palestinians To Return Home To A Free Palestine!

In May of 1948, with the support of the governments of Britain, other European powers and the United States, Zionists launched an attack on Palestine. They occupied our land and forcibly expelled three quarters of a million of our people. This continues to be the great catastrophe, the Nakba, which we, as Palestinians with our supporters have been struggling to overcome since that time.

This coming year, the 6th Annual International Al-Awda Convention will commemorate this devastating event and will re-affirm our commitment to the ongoing struggle for the right of Palestinians to return to their homes and land. The convention, which is already expected to draw large participation with several outstanding speakers, panels and cultural events to be
announced later, will take place on the week-end of May 16-18, 2008 in Anaheim California on the 60th year of the Nakba.

We are asking our members and supporters to help us raise the funds needed to make our work this coming year more effective, and to tell the world that our struggle is far from over.

·  With our year-long program of educational events commemorating the Nakba,
and leading up to the annual convention, now only 5 months away,

·   With the establishment of the Palestine Library and Palestine Media Center at the Al-Awda Center in Carlsbad California together with other developing programs,

·  With the refugee support work for our people stranded on the borders of Iraq, the Gaza Strip and family scholarship and healthcare programs in Deheisha refugee camp,

·  And as we gear up to start producing and widely distributing to our friends and supporters a print form of our newsletter, Until Return,
